The finishing touches are to be completed on the new yard and offices at De Havilland Drive in Taranaki prior to the blessing of the building and the opening of the yard on November 17. The plans have followed those of the Gisborne Yard and Offices with adaptions made from learnings that came from that build. Te Kora Awhina was chosen as the name for the Gisborne building and literally this means ‘the fuel of support’. Kora is an ancient Maori word for fuel which would have been wood and Awhina is about the support we provide. The name clearly reflects what McFall Fuel do in fuelling local communities and regions. Allan McFall said at the Gisborne launch that, “Te Kora Awhina will be used in the other locations as developed.”
